Use this toolMake sure your contact details are correct, the resume is tailored to the role, your experience reads as achievements, it follows Australian conventions (no photo or age), and it has been proofread. This checklist walks through each step.
PDF is usually safest because it keeps your formatting on any device. Send a Word document only if the employer or application system specifically asks for one.
Use a clear, professional file name such as Firstname-Lastname-Resume. Avoid vague names like "resume final v3" so it's easy for an employer to find later.
You can either list referees (with their permission) or write "Referees available on request". Many Australian job seekers use the latter to keep contact details off a shared document.
