Privacy Policy
JobCall is a free, template-based website with no accounts. This policy explains, in plain language, how we handle information when you use the site. The short version: what you type into our tools stays in your browser and isn't sent to us.

Overview
JobCall.com.au ("JobCall", "we", "us") is a free, template-based website that helps people write everyday job-communication messages and prepare documents such as resumes and cover letters. This policy describes how we handle information when you use the site, and we've aimed to handle as little personal information as possible. JobCall is not a registered company, recruitment agency or adviser — it's simply a free set of templates and tools. We handle personal information in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Information you enter into our tools
Our generators and templates let you type details — such as a name, job title or company — so the page can build a message or document for you. This happens entirely in your web browser, on your own device. The details you enter are used only to create your text during your visit; they are not sent to us, not stored on our servers, and not shared with anyone. When you close or refresh the page, those details are cleared from the tool. We never ask you to create an account. As a general precaution, please avoid entering sensitive information you wouldn't want to appear in your own draft.
Information stored on your device
Some optional conveniences — for example, remembering which items you've ticked on a checklist — are saved in your own browser's local storage on your device only. This information stays on your device, is not sent to us, and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
Information collected automatically
Like almost all websites, when you visit, our hosting provider's servers may automatically record standard technical log information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and the date and time. This is used to operate the site, keep it secure, and diagnose problems. We don't use it to personally identify you.
Cookies, analytics and tags
We use Google Tag Manager to load and manage measurement tags on the site. Through it, we may use analytics services such as Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used (for example, which pages are popular) so we can improve it. These services may set cookies or use similar technologies in your browser and may collect usage data, including an IP-based approximate location. That data is processed by Google as a third party under Google's own privacy terms, not by JobCall. Advertising cookies are covered separately in Advertising below.
Advertising
We do not display advertising on JobCall at the time of writing. We intend to fund the site with advertising through Google AdSense, and we are setting out here, in advance, exactly what that will involve so you can make an informed choice before it happens.
When advertising is enabled:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to JobCall or to other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time through Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info, or, if you are outside the United States, at youronlinechoices.com.
- Third-party vendors and ad networks that we do not control may also serve ads on the site and set their own cookies. Their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.
- You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking advertising cookies will not stop you using any of the site's tools — everything on JobCall stays free and fully functional either way.
To be clear about what we do not do: we do not sell your personal information, we do not pass the details you type into our tools to advertisers (those details never leave your browser at all), and we do not use advertising to build a profile of you ourselves. More information on how Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps is available at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
If and when we switch advertising on, this section will be updated to say that ads are live, and the date at the top of this policy will change.
You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on. Blocking cookies won't stop you using the site's tools.
How we use information
We use the limited information described above only to provide and operate the site, keep it secure, and understand in aggregate how it's used so we can improve it. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to send you marketing.
Disclosure
We don't sell or trade personal information. The only routine sharing is with the service providers that help us run the site (such as our hosting provider and Google's analytics/tag services), who handle data on our behalf or under their own policies. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Third-party links and services
The site links to other websites, including government and third-party resources. We aren't responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their policies. Google's handling of analytics data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Your choices and rights
Because we don't require accounts and don't store what you type, there is very little personal information for us to hold. You can control cookies through your browser, opt out of analytics as described above, clear your browser's local storage, and choose not to enter details into the tools. Under the Australian Privacy Principles you may ask us about, and request access to or correction of, any personal information we may hold about you; contact us using the details below and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
Young people
JobCall is used by people of many ages, including students and young people looking for a first job. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including minors, because the tools don't store or transmit what you type. If you are under 18, we encourage you to use the site with the involvement of a parent, guardian or trusted adult, and to avoid entering more personal information than you need.
Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect the site, including serving it over a secure (HTTPS) connection. No website can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but because we don't collect or store the details you enter, there is very little personal information at risk.
Contact
If you have a question or concern about this policy or your privacy, you can email us at hello@jobcall.com.au or use our contact page.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will appear on this page with a new "last updated" date above.
