About JobCall
JobCall is a free, template-based website that helps Australian job seekers write clear, polite messages for the everyday moments of a job search — returning a recruiter's call, preparing for a phone interview, answering the salary question, following up, and responding to an offer.
What JobCall is
JobCall.com.au is a free, template-based website for Australian job seekers. It helps you write clear, polite messages for the common moments of a job search — returning a recruiter's call, preparing for a phone interview, answering the salary question, following up after applying, and responding to a job offer. It also offers free resume and cover letter templates, printable checklists, plain-English guides, and a dedicated first job and no experience section for students and people just starting out.
How it works
Pick a tool, choose what you need and add a few optional details, and JobCall builds a ready-to-use message you can copy and adapt. Resume and cover letter templates can be viewed on screen and downloaded as Word or PDF. The tools run in your browser, so there's no sign-up, nothing to install, and the details you type aren't sent to us or stored. Any names, employers and details in our samples are fictional examples to show the format — see our disclaimer. You're welcome to browse all of our free tools, templates and guides.
What JobCall is not
To be clear about what we are: JobCall.com.au is not a registered company, a recruitment agency, an employment or career advisor, a legal, tax, financial or migration advisor, or a government or official careers service. We don't apply for roles on your behalf or contact employers for you, and we can't give advice tailored to your personal circumstances. JobCall simply provides general templates and information you can use as a starting point.
Why we built it
Knowing what to say can be one of the hardest parts of job hunting, especially under pressure or on short notice. JobCall exists to take the guesswork out of those small but important messages, so you can respond quickly and with confidence — for free.
How we write our content
JobCall is a small, independent Australian site, not a media company or a content farm. We think you should know how what you're reading gets made, so here are the standards we hold ourselves to:
- Written for Australia, specifically. Every guide, template and example uses Australian English, Australian date and phone formats, and Australian norms — White Cards, AHPRA registration, Working with Children Checks, selection criteria, the lot. We don't republish American careers advice with the spelling changed.
- Communication help, not advice. We show you how to word things. We are not recruiters, HR professionals, lawyers or career counsellors, and we say so plainly rather than implying authority we don't have. Anything touching your legal or financial position should go to a qualified professional.
- Every example is fictional. The names, employers and numbers in our samples are invented to show the format. They are starting points to adapt with your own real experience, never text to copy word for word.
- We tell you when we're not sure. Requirements differ between employers, states and agencies, and they change. Where that's true, we say so and point you back to the job ad rather than inventing a rule.
- Reviewed, and dated honestly. Each guide shows when it was last reviewed. If a date says July, it means someone looked at it in July — we don't auto-stamp today's date to look fresh.
- Free, with nothing to upsell. There's no sign-up, no paywall, no "unlock the download" trick, and no lead capture. Our tools run in your browser and the details you type aren't sent to us or stored.
