Redundancy Follow-Up Email Generator

After a redundancy meeting, a short email gives you a clear record and gets the paperwork moving. This free tool writes a calm, factual redundancy follow-up email — to confirm what was said, ask questions about the proposal, or request your employment records. Nothing you type is stored.

Here's the kind of wording this tool produces. Yours will use the details you enter.

Confirm the meeting in writing

Subject: Follow-up from our meeting

Hi Jess,

Thank you for meeting with me and explaining the proposed changes. I wanted to confirm my understanding of our conversation on Tuesday 14 October.

My role as Customer Service Officer is proposed to be made redundant. My last day would be Friday 7 November.

Could you please confirm this in writing, along with a breakdown of my final pay, including notice, redundancy pay and any unused leave?

I'm happy to help with a handover in the meantime.

Kind regards,
Sam

Request records and final pay breakdown

Subject: Statement of service and final pay

Hi Jess,

Before I finish up, I'd be grateful if you could send me a statement of service showing my role and dates of employment, and a breakdown of my final pay.

I may also need an Employment Separation Certificate for Services Australia. Could you please complete one for me?

Thanks very much,
Sam

Frequently asked questions

Why send an email after a redundancy meeting?

It creates a written record of what you were told, and asking for the key details in writing (your last day and a breakdown of final pay) helps avoid misunderstandings later.

What should the email include?

Keep it short and factual: thank them for the meeting, summarise what you understood, and ask for written confirmation and anything still missing. It's a record, not the place to argue the decision.

How do I check my redundancy pay?

The Fair Work Ombudsman publishes the National Employment Standards redundancy pay table, the exceptions (including most small businesses) and a calculator. Your award, agreement or contract may give more. Our redundancy meeting guide links to the official pages.

What if I think the redundancy is not genuine?

Get advice quickly from your union, a community legal centre or an employment lawyer. Unfair dismissal applications to the Fair Work Commission must be lodged within 21 days of your employment ending.

Is anything stored?

No. Your details are sent to our server only to build the email on this page, then discarded. Nothing is saved and there's no sign-up.

JobCall Australia provides general communication templates only. Redundancy entitlements depend on the National Employment Standards, your award or agreement and your contract — check the Fair Work Ombudsman. This is not legal, financial or employment-law advice.
