During my supervised work placement in a long day care centre, I supported educators with play-based activities and daily routines, helped supervise children and keep the environment safe and clean, and recorded simple observations. I am warm, patient and observant, and I hold a current Working with Children Check, First Aid (HLTAID012), and anaphylaxis and asthma training. I am available across a range of shifts.

What should a childcare cover letter include?
Lead with warmth and patience, then your Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or that you are enrolled), and your Working with Children Check — services legally cannot employ you without one. Mention the age group you are most comfortable with, show some awareness of the Early Years Learning Framework, and add a short example of supporting a child's learning or wellbeing.
Can I work in childcare while studying my Certificate III?
Yes. Many services employ trainees or assistants who are actively enrolled in a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, and some support you through a traineeship. Say clearly in your letter that you are enrolled and when you expect to finish, and make sure your Working with Children Check is already in hand.
Do I need a Working with Children Check for childcare?
Yes. It is mandatory across Australia to work with children, though the name and process differ by state and territory — for example a WWCC in NSW and Victoria, or a Blue Card in Queensland. Apply for it before you start job hunting and list it near the top of your letter and resume, since services screen for it first.
