What should a nursing cover letter include?
Open with your AHPRA registration and your Bachelor of Nursing, since these are verified before anything else. Then name the settings you have worked or completed placements in — medical, surgical, aged care, paediatrics — the clinical skills you use, and any EMR or clinical systems. Close with your clearances and your availability.
How do I write a graduate nurse cover letter?
Your clinical placements are your experience — name the wards or settings, the skills you practised and the systems you used. Show that you understand safe, evidence-based practice and that you work well in a multidisciplinary team. Any Assistant in Nursing or Personal Care Assistant work is a genuine advantage, so include it.
What registration do nurses need in Australia?
Registered and enrolled nurses must hold current registration with AHPRA through the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Most roles also require a National Police Check, frequently a Working with Children Check, and current First Aid and CPR. Requirements differ between employers and states, so always check the specific job ad.
